The Modern Greek Studies Program promotes study, research, and publications focusing on modern times from the Greek perspective. The program coordinates course offerings, scholarly visits, graduate fellowships, and a series of publications.

What Your Gift Can Do
Your generous support for Modern Greek Studies is more critical than ever. It helps us attract and retain the very best scholars and students despite decreasing funding from the state.
Fund Information:
- Basil Laourdas Fellowship Fund. This fund has been developed specifically to encourage interest in the field of Modern Greek Studies. Through it, deserving graduate students can obtain grants and fellowships to enable them to complete their graduate program and to encourage publication of papers and monographs in the field.
- Modern Greek Studies Program Fund. This fund enhances the quality of the program’s educational activities by sponsoring visiting speakers, guest lecturers, and various student activities.
- Theofanis G. Stavrou Eastern Orthodox History & Culture Fellowship. This fund provides tuition assistance to full-time graduate students in the history and culture of the Eastern Orthodox world.
- James Cunningham Fund. This fund provides support for an annual scholar of eastern orthodoxy to present a major formal public address & to speak to interested graduate students.
